Today I was working in the print room, using pigment painting on a range of textured contrasting fabrics. I liked the effect it had on the leather and the jersey material and I could see some of the subtle prints working on jumpers or a skirt. I found it quite frustrating as a lot of my colours didn't work on certain fabrics. I do like the pearl pigment paint I used on the wet look mack material , it gives an metallic reflective effect. I am trying to step out of my comfort zone and use new materials and techniques. I'm not that keen on how the colours have worked out , I feel I have used too much purple and grey so I am going to continue and try to shift the colour balance when I next go in the print room.

Print Room
Today I was working in the print room I worked with my textured fabrics such as wool and leather. I used pigment Printing on top of them using my colour palette. Above are the motifs I had put on screen. I find the print room quite tiring and challenging. It is very time consuming and I didn't like a lot of the samples I created. This was due to the limited colour I was able to use. I find it very frustrating that I can't undo my mistakes like with photoshop and digital prints.

Print Room
Today I have been working in the print room I have began by pigment printing. It hasn't gone as well as planned, I'm not the most patient person and the print room takes a lot of time. Between having to mix up the paints , washing and drying screens the day goes ridiculously quickly without a lot of work to show for it. I obviously cant use all my colours in the print room and I have been finding it difficult to chose combination of colours that still fit in with my final collection as a whole. I have also been finding composition challenging, choosing what motifs to put with each other and the placement of them. Below are examples of my pigment prints.
I have been very ill with tonsillitis this week and have missed a good few days of work in the print room which has set me back. I will hopefully feel better on monday after my antibiotics kicking in, so I am going to move onto reactive dyes as I feel the colours will relate to my project more and keep in theme with the mood of my colour strip.
