Every year Topshop tends to do a range of designer T-shirts by the hottest most up and coming designers of the moment. I am always really excited to see what they come up with. A Tshirt design is quite simple so the print is massively important. The three examples below were my favourite from the collection, this being down to the print but also the type of material used. Louise Gray has used a silk material which I feel directs the collection towards the higher end of the market, the same market and audience I am aiming for in my brief. 

Kate Phelan Talk

Today I went to see Kate Phelan who is the creative director at Topshop and Contributing Editor at Vogue Magazine. She talked about the new up and coming trends and the seasons must-haves. She highlighted that pastels were in but also contrasting textures were key. Combining a baby pink fluffy jumper with a black PVC or leather pencil skirt.
She also told us to be BOLD with our outfit choices, step out of our comfort zone and not be obvious with how we wear our clothes.
The floor was also opened up to questions, she told us that her inspirations are mainly us, the public, music and film.
She also said the film she would recreate using Topshop clothes would be Devils Wears Prada. She gave advice on how to break into the magazine industry , she said be persistent and gain as much experience as possible!
