I want to combine geometric shapes to bring the tradition features in Religion up to date and modern. I'm going to be looking at figures and I find the gravity and defacing of these images interesting.

Colour palette Experimentation

I have been working on bigger scale this week working with backgrounds and using acetate on top. Combining linear and geometric shapes with textured backgrounds. I don't usually work on bigger scale so this was a test for me. I liked working on textured surfaces, I think it works well and I am going to further with this. Trying to combine the textured effect into my digital and hand prints. I don't think the black acetate on top of the coloured background, so when taking into digital I am going to work on top with a more subtle tone. 

Rearranging Images

This week I have been experimenting with my drawings cutting them up and rearranging them in a different composition. As geometric shapes have been key in my project so far I tried to rearrange my drawings using these elements. I like the first drawing I think it works well with the black background, I think the second drawing looks too separate and static behind the white background.

DATA

I am currently in print, I am enjoying this sampling project. There is a lot of drawing which is what I enjoy most and I feel that I am confident in this area. We are currently working on black and white motifs which will then be put onto screen for printing. I began with looking at general data and graphs, I looked at heart monitors and then graphs and data that are used in health care and medicine. I found this quite limiting so I looked at my work further to see what I could develop. I really like the heart monitor drawings and they reminded me of skylines, so I decided to look at city scapes and buildings from birds eye views. This gave me the ability to create geometric abstract shapes that were placed in a structured order. I also looked at the idea of congestion due to the cars looking like shapes, my only problem was the ratio of black to white so I considered this carefully.  I have also quickly looked at the idea of colour, but I feel the colour stripe isn't an accurate representation of the picture I have chosen so I am going to further work on this.
